New British School in Barcelona, St.George’s School

St George's School is a British school which offers an outstanding alternative, providing an education from age 2, which is creative but challenging, with its own distinctive style.

The student's studies follow and are in line with the British National Curriculum. All courses are taught in English by native speakers with extensive experience and highly qualified under the British education system. They also teach the subjects of Sociales, Spanish Language and Catalan.

Goodbye Dr Gonzalez, Headmaster of the British School of Barcelona, leaving for Canada

Dr Josep Gonzalez has been Headmaster of the British School of Barcelona in Castelldefels for the past few years. He was born in Sabadell, Barcelona  and spent more than 23 years in the UK, obtaining his PhD at Oxford University. He has held various posts at prestigious public schools like Charterhouse, Surrey, St Paul’s London and Eton College, Windsor. He has also worked regularly with the Cambridge International Examinations Board.

Dr Gonzalez is well known for his love of languages, his pro-bilingualism and for his work and  belief that the school should produce true citizens of the world. His next destination will be the International School of Toronto (TFS), Canada  - All the best and see you soon! 

School Calendar 2015-2016

From 10 September to 22 June, for nursery, primary and secondary.

According to the Spanish government, the school calendar starts from the 1st of September 2015 till  the 30th of June. The teaching syllabus will start on the 10th of September and will finish on the 22nd of  June, depending on the institution and the region. 

Private schools can set their own beginning and end of term, as long as these fall between the 1st of September and the 30th of June. The latest date when classes can begin is the 23rd of September.
